FAQ

What Can or Can’t I Bring To PrideFest?

There are a number of items that are allowed and some that are not.  Be respectful of yourself, others and your surroundings while visiting the festival. You will receive a wristband at the gate that permits reentry. If you need to store anything in your car that you might need during festival hours you are welcome to leave the festival and come back in later. If you have questions regarding what you can and cannot bring please send us a message on Facebook: facebook.com/KCPride

Please DO NOT bring the following:

  • Pets (Non Service):
NO PETS, except for service animals, are allowed at the festival. This is for your safety, the safety of your pet, the safety of other guests, and the safety of the animals at our adoptions booths. If you bring an animal you won’t be allowed entry. Leaving an animal in a vehicle is also not permitted and very dangerous. Please leave your animals at home.

How do I purchase adult beverages? (21+)

PrideFest uses a “Drink Ticket” system.
Drink Tickets can be purchased by the stage just behind the bar at the Drink Ticket Tent.
Show your ID, get a 21+ wristband, and then purchase drink tickets.
Each drink ticket is $5.
1 drink ticket = 1 mixed drink, beer, or wine
“Pay” for your drink by giving your drink ticket to the bartender at the bar.

Day Descriptions:

Friday, June 2: All electronic music. DJ headliner.
Saturday, June 3: Wide range of acts and bands. Band headliners perform.
Sunday, June 4: Family day. Mostly local bands and performers.

Is the festival “Family/Kid Friendly?”
The daylight hours are family friendly on Saturday or Sunday. After sundown, around 8:30pm, the festival becomes the equivalent of a late night at a gay club/bar. You could also think of it as a R rated movie with Mature themes. We encourage families to use their own judgements about what they feel is kid friendly. Everybody has a different perspective. Keep in mind that the Kids Zone and the Youth Hangout close at 6:00pm on Saturday and Sunday.
